Why the deposit always reconciles
Dueflow builds each deposit from the ledger activity in the window the payout covers: money paid in per category, minus refunds out of the same category. If you paid the payout fee, it posts as a negative expense line, because the bank received the net – treating a fee as reduced income is the mistake that makes an accountant's month worse.
Chapters rarely withdraw exactly what they collected in a window, so anything left over from a prior balance lands on a clearly labeled unallocated line. The result is a deposit whose lines sum to the bank total to the cent, which is the only thing reconciliation actually requires.
- Per-category income lines, net of refunds
- Payout fee posted as an expense, not lost revenue
- Balancing line for prior-balance carryover
- Deposit total equals the bank statement exactly
